This introductory course is designed for complete beginners and coffee enthusiasts who want to master the fundamentals of professional espresso preparation. You will gain hands-on experience with commercial-grade equipment, learning essential skills like proper grinder adjustment, perfecting the espresso extraction, steaming silky microfoam, and preparing classic milk-based beverages. By the end of this course, you will have the core technical knowledge and confidence to begin your journey as a competent barista.

  • Espresso Fundamentals: Understanding what espresso is, the history, and how to "pull a perfect shot."

  • Grinder Operation: Learning to operate and adjust a coffee grinder to achieve the correct "grind size" for espresso.

  • Dosing and Tamping: Mastering the techniques for measuring (dosing) and compressing (tamping) coffee grounds.

  • Milk Steaming and Texturing: Techniques to steam milk for different drinks (e.g., cappuccino, latte) to create a consistent microfoam.

  • Basic Drink Recipes: Learning the standard recipes and ratios for common espresso-based drinks like a latte, cappuccino, and macchiato.

  • Equipment Care: Basic cleaning and maintenance of the espresso machine and grinder.
